Overview
Governance sessions with third parties. Scheduling performance meetings on a quarterly and monthly basis with internal and external stakeholders. Reviewing KPI/SLAs within contracts and holding third parties accountable. Wider responsibilities/experiences within the business area: Interviewing, Disciplinary note taking, data analysis.
Skills
Digital skills on platforms such as: Power BI, Workday, Teams, PowerPoint, Excel How to run calls with third parties Presenting skills Stakeholder management Web design
Responsibilities
Yes I was given lots of responsibility during my placement within a couple of weeks I was being given he responsibility of holding governance calls and holding the pen on action logs.
Support & Guidance
I had support from a variety of sources: Manager, Mentor, YINI Scheme Managers, Other YINIs students and other colleagues
Culture
I only operated (and mainly interacted with) people from one area of Centrica but in that area everyone was welcoming and friendly. It felt like everyone wanted me to get the most out of the year as possible. The culture was also relaxed especially in terms of coming into the office, with their flexible working policy (Min 1 office day a month), however I often came in more than this, which shows the friendly and enjoyable atmosphere in the workplace.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed my placement thoroughly as it gave me a great introduction into corporate working life, I felt at times it maybe could of had more development days learning new niche skillsets. I am hoping to get onto the graduate schemes in the future which also shows how much I have enjoyed this year

Make an effort to expand and widen your network, and use the large scale of the business as it will present you many opportunities outside of your role, gaining a broad range of experiences.
