The Role
Worked with lots of people and given lots of opportunities to develop, including the chance to gain my ITIL V.3 foundation certificate.
Worked closely with members of my own team and was also recommended as a good person to work with from other teams. Managers within my own team we had several outings as a group external to work as well as events within the office.
My manager and the other managers in the team were always willing to talk about the work I was completing as well as offering guidance on how to develop other skills such as my soft skills.
On some days there was little work for me to do which left me trying to find work to fill the time but on other days I had so much work I felt it was a struggle to get it all done. However, this is just a part of work life.
I have been left to manage several small projects, co-lead large projects and manage large chunks of company-wide projects.
My dissertation is based on ITIL which I have learnt whilst at the company. I have also learnt more about communication skills.
The Company
Everyone worked very hard, but when there was something for us to do fun (such as fun raising) or a laugh to be had, everyone joined in.
On the companies side it has been well managed and organised but unfortunately our actual placement was managed by an external company and there have been several problems.
If I was willing to ask for something, everything would be done to get that development opportunity for me.
Flexi Time
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Above 25 days holiday
Working from home
I am unsure, there are several ways to enter the company after university but it depends on what work you would like to be doing
The Culture
Quite often there were nights out organised with several people who live close to the office willing to let you sleep on the sofa.
London is an expensive place to live. Either you have to pay lots of rent and no travel costs or commute in and lose your wages on travelling costs. There was always some money left for socialising at the end of the week though.
West London is a bit quiet but it is easy to get into Central where nightlife is buzzing.
These weren't always proactively advertised.
