Overview
I was a HR Consultant for Customer Fulfilment in British Gas S&S, working with managers in this region to try and reduce absence and increase performance through wellbeing projects and upskilling colleagues.
Skills
I have improved some technical skills such as my use of Workday and Microsoft Excel, as well as soft skills such as my time management and being able to work well in a team to deliver a project.
Responsibilities
Yes, I had to deal with stakeholders such as the trade unions when working to improve the work of colleagues, as well as managers when having to support them through difficult colleague cases.
Support & Guidance
I did receive sufficient support through my placement as my managers were very supportive if I had any concerns.
Culture
The company has very strong values which are shown throughout the organisation and I have felt valued as an intern with the business through meeting many welcoming colleagues.
Your Impressions
I have really enjoyed my placement as I am 1 of 15 interns so we have a great communication and I have made some great relationships, and I have learnt so much about this interesting industry first hand.
