The Role
Most enjoyable work experience I've had so far.
Perhaps not like family... But they were all very welcoming and friendly.
Trained me at the beginning until I was confident enough to work independently, but it still available now for if I need help.
I plan my own working week, so I can organise how busy I will be.
I was given the level of responsibility that I expected, but I wasn't running the show, nor did I want to!
Interpersonal skills, time management, organisation, presenting, to name a few. Lab work will most definitely help me get a higher mark in the final year of my degree.
The Company
Usually fairly quiet, but this helped me concentrate. Chatting occurred more during tea breaks.
SRG were a farce. However day-to-day goings on with my placement have been brilliant.
I was fortunate enough to attend conferences, team building weekends etc. As well as the initial lab training which was excellent.
Flexi Time
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
I would love to work for GSK in the future, however they don't have any suitable graduate schemes for the R&D sector.
The Culture
There were so many placement students that you were bound to get along with someone.
To be expected from living in the South.
Terrible clubs... But this only made it funnier. The pubs in Old Town are lovely.
Invited to team buildings, work nights out etc.
