  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • My role stems around business management - evaluating the performance of a sector within the company and taking on various respnsibilities to improve the operations within the cluster. I also work on client projects gaining an understanding of project management and agile ways of working as well as being involved in a Business Resource Group to showcase what IBM are doing from a diversity perspective.

  • I have learnt many new skills since joining IBM. My technical curiosity has been developed since I have been learning about new softwares within the business. I have also developed my communication skills as I have regular interactions with senior leadership within the business. Having worked across many workstreams, I have learnt that management, adaptability and organisation are key to succeeding in such a diverse and advanced organisation.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • I have been given a lot of responsibility on my placement. I have to create a newsletter on a weekly basis which covers the performance of our internal cluster and then send this to the leadership team. I also have to manage the spends within our sector to make sure we are complying with budgets. From a client perspective I have also managed the project plan of a major delivery.
