The Role
It was a really great taste of what working in a lab would actually be like
Everyone was friendly and took my work seriously
I was given as much support as i wanted
Some days were very busy and others were slower, but that was good as i was able to catch up on my experimental write ups
If i had a suggestion for an experiment i could talk it though with my supervisor and more often than not i would be allowed to plan and carry it out independently
My lab skills have been vastly improve which will be of help on returning to uni
The Company
Friendly with tea breaks and cake
The work side was very well organised although the payroll was poorly managed by an external company
Lots of onluine training when we first arrived
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Above 25 days holiday
If i was offered a job doing what i have been during my placement i would take it but im not sure its my dream job
The Culture
Lots of students so there was plenty of socialising
Not too expensive but being close to london it wasnt cheap
Nightlife in stevenage wasnt great but there are plenty of pubs and it's qhick to get into london
Some, i got involved in a local Brownie group
