Overview
A Graduate Surveyor, providing a supportive role for the team. Attending team meetings, inspections and running single asset and portfolio valuations to an increasing degree of independence.
Skills
Developed skills in excel. Learnt new skills in report writing, client care, commercial property valuation and inspections, presentation skills.
Responsibilities
I haven't personally been given as much responsibility as other graduates in the team for reasons I am unsure of, but the opportunity is there if you fit their 'criteria'!
Support & Guidance
Some, from my team but not enough. Lots of support from the Next Generation (Graduate) Scheme/Team.
Culture
General company culture is very welcoming and diverse, a nice place to be a part of. Some teams definitely still have a dated mindset and fit corporate stereotypes making it hard to fit in.
Your Impressions
I am enjoying being part of the graduate scheme, I think they work very well with us, but I am not sure this is the sector for me.
Yes
Be prepared for certain corporate stereotypes, the team that you join will make a massive impact on your experience here somake sure to choose the people as much as the job.
