Overview
I am a graduate Building Surveyor and I support the building surveying team across technical due diligence and dilapidations. This involves undertaking building surveys, end of lease negotiations and construction projects
Skills
I have learnt new and developed existing skills such as project and time management, communication, team working, as well as practical on-the-job skills
Responsibilities
I have been given responsibility to conduct tasks and jobs independently, however support is never far away
Support & Guidance
Lots of support from my colleagues in terms of growing and developing as a building surveyor. The graduate scheme has helped me develop my soft skills and helped me work out my personal brand. As well as this, they have given great practical APC support, setting p workshops with industry experts
Culture
In Building Surveying, the culture is very accepting and supporting. As the only female graduate, I feel I have been given equal support and opportunities as my male colleagues.
Your Impressions
I have really enjoyed my graduate scheme. I feel my colleagues want to see me grow into a chartered building surveyor and make sure I have the tools to do so in a positive and supportive environment
Yes
Be yourself. It it just as much about how you will integrate into the CBRE culture than your skills on paper. You will have the support and encouragement you need to grow as surveyor and get chartered
