Overview
Main role is to be engineering support for Disney's MAM system and other affiliated systems. Issues are raised via a ticketing system where they must be logged and tracked. Some problems may involve communicating with a third-party vendor. As you gain more experience you can take on projects which may involve you implementing config changes to the MAM.
Skills
- I've developed my understanding of cloud computing and networks, my problem solving, communication, interpersonal, time management, and organisational skills. - I've been learning SQL and I've gained new knowledge on media redistribution, MAM systems and how a large company operates.
Responsibilities
Yes, you are treated like an actual employee, rather than a student or an intern, so you get given the same responsibilities as the rest of your team.
Support & Guidance
The team are there for you whenever you have a question or need to be walked through a solution. They are very patient and kind so you will always get help when you need it, but you will also get given independence that will allow you to develop your skills.
Culture
The company is very welcoming and the general atmosphere was quite relaxed - the office is not a stressful environment so you can settle in easily.
Your Impressions
I had an amazing year - I loved the job and I learnt a lot about myself, gained a lot of confidence, gained/developed lots of useful skills that will help me in my career in the future, and made great friends.
Yes
Don't worry if you don't have a lot of knowledge on the job - two of the main things Disney looks for is that you are keen to learn and are genuinely interested in the job you're applying for.
