Overview
During a engagement, it is likely that you will have a team call at some point in the day. You may also have a client meeting to get further clarification on items or to show them the progress you have made on current tasks. The day-to-day is always changing as a consultant due to the type of engagement you are on and the role you play in that engagement.
Skills
The biggest development I have made over my time with EY is my interpersonal skills, having to converse with team members and clients frequently lets you build confidence, and in my experience team members encourage for you to share your views or ideas. As for technical skills, I have learnt react and node, things that I had studied briefly during university but diving into a project using them was the best way to truly see how it all works.
Responsibilities
Yes in all of the engagements I was on I had daily responsibilities and tasks that I needed to complete just like any other team member, but also I felt very comfortable asking team members for further clarification if and when I needed it. Everyone was always willing to put 5 minutes aside in their diary and help me.
Support & Guidance
At the start of your placement they are more hands on with you as learn how things work and who to talk to about what. However, throughout the year they allow you more independence but will be more than happy to answer any question you may have
Culture
Great culture, really welcoming people who are very inclusive and down to earth.
