Overview
Technology Solutions Delivery in Financial Services, particularly the insurance sector. Day to day I help insurers with their technology. This can vary massively from role to role. I have helped with PMO, contingency planning, business process mapping etc.
Skills
I have learnt so much over since starting my placement. I have felt that EY is really a great place to start your career. You are surrounded by so many industry experts, who are all friendly and happy to help you develop. I have gained so much technical knowledge about technology and the sector I work in.
Responsibilities
Yes! As long as you build your professional relationships and show that you are capable, you will be given ample responsibility. The key here is to really work on your network within your team. I have always felt that the work I was given was a great mixture of enough responsibility to learn and develop and not too much where it can become overwhelming and difficult to manage.
Support & Guidance
There is a great support structure at EY. You have a buddy, a counsellor, a grad champion, peer groups etc. In addition to this support structure for new joiners, there is no shortage of people who are friendly, supportive etc. Once again the key is to put yourself out there and reach out to those people.
Culture
Culture varies massively from team to team and office to office. In my own personal experience, it was great. As I said earlier people are always happy to help and guide you. People are always down to have a coffee cha, its great. There is also a number of socials, townhalls going on year round.
Your Impressions
My previous answers say enough about this. Il add that I couldn't imagine a better placement experience anywhere else but EY.
Yes
If you join, don't be afraid to ask anything and most importantly network, network, network. Networking is key for everything throughout your career journey.
