Overview
My role as retail marketing intern involves supporting from ideas to the final product of Disney marketing campaigns across UK retailers such as Asda, Tesco, Harrods, Selfridges, Smyths and many more. I work closely with our in-house creative team and social team to brief in and coordinate creative assets for in-store, online and influencers
Skills
I have developed an ability to be an account manager, allowing me to build on my communication and organisation. I have also strengthened my creativity through campaign ideation and brainstorm with various teams
Responsibilities
I was given a huge amount of responsibility, more so that anticipated. Disney likes to treat their interns as supervisors which aids in career development and skill building. The responsibility is gradual but at the end of the 12 months I was Marketing account owner for two huge UK retailers
Support & Guidance
I received a huge amount of support from both my team and external teams and clients. I couldn't have asked for a better support network
Culture
The company culture is all about being truly happy in your role. I felt very welcomed and at peace, with everyone I came across being super friendly it was hard not too
Your Impressions
It was the best year and I truly feel it has been the biggest aid in my career development
Yes
Be confident in your ability. Disney are looking for people with a genuine want to learn and also a love of the company, make sure that shines through
