Overview
As a Customer Success Manager (CSM) at IBM, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the success and satisfaction of IBM's customers. You will be responsible for building strong relationships with customers, understanding their business needs, and providing them with exceptional service and support. Your primary objective will be to drive customer adoption, retention, and expansion by proactively addressing their challenges and maximizing the value they derive from IBM's products and solutions.
Skills
Communication and Presentation Skills: CSMs need to be effective communicators, both verbally and in writing. They should be able to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner, and confidently present ideas, reports, and recommendations to customers and internal stakeholders. Customer Relationship Management: A CSM needs to excel in building and nurturing relationships with customers. This includes strong communication skills, active listening, empathy, and the ability to understand and address customer needs and concerns.
Responsibilities
I was given a lot of responsibilty during my placement. I dealt with a client facing role, hence I had to articulate myself in a way which would help impress clients and allows us to initiate further business with them. I had to handle confidential information and analyse data across the whole team.
Support & Guidance
I recieved a lot of support and guidance. My manager is very understanding and from the beginning made it clear that there is no such thing as a dumb question. If I ever needed any support with my work, then I should always send him a message or email. I also had the support of my foundation manager, who would aid me in my overall IBM experience and any questions which were not job related, they would be of great assistance.

Your Impressions
I loved my placement. It allowed me to gain experience in what it is like to work in a technology company. Alongside my day to day work there was lots of volunteering and giveback oppurtinities available, allowing me to have an all-rounded experience.

IBM really focus on a willingness to laern. You have to show a genuine passion for the role you apply for. Research any projects that others in that role had previously done and showcase why you think that project is of interest to you. IBM also have a lot of volunteering oppurtinities, so show a willingness to get involved in those alongside your day to day role.
