Overview
I did a placement in the Value Creation, Performance & Trends team. This means every day is different! It could vary from being involved in value creation opportunities on any category, upskilling other developers on trends or sitting in on a sustainability session
Skills
I have been given real responsibility in this role which has really developed me as a person! We were offered coaching, which has helped me to develop confidence towards delivering presentations- which will be essential in my future career.
Responsibilities
Like I said before I was given a lot of responsibility. I was responsible for many of my own quite large projects that fed into even larger projects- this means I could see my work being put into action. I was also responsible for hosting a number of sessions with suppliers.
Support & Guidance
I received so much support. When going into a placement it's really daunting but the Co-op team are lovely and make you feel like part of the team. I would have weekly 1-1s with my manager to ensure I'm on track with reaching my goals.
Culture
Everyone at Co-op is really approachable and friendly which makes it a great place to work. Wellbeing is considered as important by your managers and you can reach out to them for any kind of help.
Your Impressions
My placement has been great and I have really enjoyed it! The year has flew by and I'm sad to be leaving. My team made this a great year with lots of experience I can now take into my future careers
Yes
Enjoy yourself! Obviously your given proper responsibilities, so take the job seriously. But I found many parts of my job enjoyable and there were so many amazing opportunities
