Overview
In our role, we work closely with account teams in Consulting, Tech, SaT and Audit to respond to proposals, using a combination of presentations, spreadsheets and questionnaires to aid our teams to improve Insurance companies
Skills
I have improved my powerpoint, excel and presenting skills massively. I have also developed my organisational skills, which was something that I was lacking in. Working as part of our internal team has made me more skilled at time management and working with others on large scale, multifaceted projects.
Responsibilities
I was given ownership of multiple tasks throughout the placement, which can feel pressured at points but I really rose to the occasion, with the help of my senior colleagues
Support & Guidance
I was given more than adequate support during my placement, as senior members of the team were more than willing to give guidance when it came to difficult tasks and important proposals, it felt like they were invested in my learning
Culture
The company culture is very welcoming, I have really enjoyed working as part of the EY Team. There is always after work drinks and socials and the other teams get to know you as well which helps with feeling like an important member of the team
Your Impressions
I have enjoyed my placement a lot
Yes
Go into the placement with an open mind, and don't be afraid to ask for pieces of work you know you'll enjoy. The team is always accommodating if you say you want to get involved in Sustainability projects or DE&I Initiatives. Also, don't be afraid to message senior members of other teams to pick their brains over coffee.
