Overview
Serving customers and providing world-class customer service in the process, delivering and collecting hire vehicles, marketing to local businesses and bodyshops, selling additional products, completing your trainee folder.
Skills
I’ve learned fleet management and sales as my main new skills. The existing skills I have developed are presentation skills, time management, problem solving, customer service & working under pressure
Responsibilities
Plenty, from my first week I was given my own, small area of the business to look after and after 5 months, I was running a large branch several times a month. At the end of my placement I was running the branch without management on a few weekends.
Support & Guidance
A lot, but not all support is pushed to you. Sometimes you need to go looking for it in order to make the most of your development.
Culture
The atmosphere is overall very friendly and welcoming and there is generally a good relationship between branches in different areas.
Your Impressions
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement. It was challenging but very rewarding. I’m glad I decided to do it.
Yes
Prepare thoroughly for your interviews and make the most of the interview day in the branch; make sure you enjoy it, ask plenty of questions and speak with both staff and customers.
