Overview
High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) instrument maintenance and use. Method development for HPLC and transfer of methods between instruments. Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) analysis of drug substances.
Skills
My data analysis skills have improved. My knowledge of HPLC and its instrumentation is strong and I can troubleshoot a variety of issues that might come up. My communication skills have improved substantially and I feel more comfortable presenting my work to peers, regardless of if we have previously met.
Responsibilities
I was given an appropriate amount of responsibility, which depended on the task I was given. However for my University project work I had full control of how I approached the issue with guidance from my supervisor. This came with the responsibility of scheduling my work around other chemists to avoid clashes with their work.
Support & Guidance
Enough to get my work done without major struggles.
Culture
Relaxed but professional. Everyone is very friendly and helpful when you have questions. It is easy to get a hold of coworkers when you have questions for them.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed it very much and it equipped me with the required skills to properly begin my career in Chemistry. The experience I received this year helped me secure a job at a different company, where I will be doing similar things.
