Overview
Keeping up to date on economics and world news, thinking about how this could impact consumer prices, house prices or business prices. Led on production of a monthly dataset. Would contribute to monthly inflation bulletins and quarterly economic analysis publications.
Skills
Developed my writing and presenting skills as well as improving my organisation and multi-tasking. Learnt new excel skills.
Responsibilities
I believe I was given a fair and appropriate amount of responsibility
Support & Guidance
Sufficient.
Culture
Friendly and not intimidating. But hard to develop working relationships as placement was completely virtual.
Your Impressions
Very. Decided to come back on a permanent basis after graduating.
No
Be prepared that the work you may do may not be appropriate for an economist. Enjoyment in the organisation depends heavily on the role you are given. Some are great, others are very dull. Again also dependent on teams and managers. Lack of in-person office environment can mean the organisation lacks community.
