Overview
Assigned tasks by my manager, and able to find my own tasks to do if I want to as well. We are given responsibility to manage our own workload, which I like. Concept assessment, development and design take up much of the day, with some project management and report writing.
Skills
I've learnt to use new software and programming languages, developed some of my existing engineering skillset, and enhanced my knowledge of the defence industry itself, which was limited prior to joining.
Responsibilities
I was, because I asked to be given it. If you feel you're not ready for higher responsibilities though, the company will recognise this and help enable you to build the required skillsets.
Support & Guidance
A lot - close contact with my manager every day which I liked, and everyone I asked a question to was very happy to respond and help me.
Culture
Very good, lots of available social activities.
