Overview
The role consistently changes, beginning as a store assistant you work up the management chain within stores before moving to a role in head office working in different departments.
Skills
Management skills are developed as well as personal skills such as confidence and communication.
Responsibilities
The placement is tough work because of how much responsibility you are given so early on. This carries throughout the 12 months.
Support & Guidance
You are provided regular feedback and support. However, you are expected to undertake a lot on your own more often than not.
Culture
The culture is very fast paced and hard work is expected. It is likely that you’ll work longer hours than planned and have to deal with issues quickly. Can be a stressful environment and put you too the test.
Your Impressions
The role is rewarding and you are able to learn a lot, but it restricts social life a lot and it’s hard to get a balance. Depending what you want will determine how much you enjoy it.
Yes
You will get out what you put in, and be prepared to work extremely hard. However, the teams are fun to work in and you can form strong relationships to carry on into the future.
