Overview
Day to day I will - Work with plan owners across the business to help manage and exercise plans. - Present and facilitate exercises to response teams to practice invoking business continuity plans. - Use fusion software to update, create and manage plans across UKI - Assist in crisis management activities - Answer questions from clients about our business continuity capabilities - Question suppliers about their business continuity capabilities - Response/mitigation planning - identifying potential risks to our people and processes and putting measures in place to prevent impact.
Skills
My knowledge around business continuity and risk has substantially increased. I had the opportunity to complete an external course in business continuity and now have a qualification in the subject. Soft skills I have developed include: professionalism, confidence, time management. My project management skills have drastically improved by scheduling and delivering exercise programmes under tight timelines.
Responsibilities
I was given lots of responsibility from the beginning of my placement, running projects individually.
Support & Guidance
A lot, everyone in my team was so happy to help. I had 121 sessions with my manager multiple times a week for check ups and opportunities to ask questions.
