The Role
I really enjoyed my time here and would love to come back and work for Microsoft in the future.
I was treated as an FTE working on real shipping products and contributing just as much as other team members.
My manager and colleagues were always happy to help with issues I was having, directly work related or not.
The work load obviously varied as the project changed phases but this is to be expected. It balanced out quite well with some quieter times to make up for the crunch.
I was given responsibility for a number of core features on our product, just as much as the other team members.
The technical skills and experience I have along with the experiences of workign for a large corporation, across tiem zones in multi disciplined teams will help provide a good start to my career.
The Company
Everyone was really friendly and laid back, often have a chat with other memebers of the reams. We did a number of OOF activities too, which was always good!
It was, in my opinion, organised so well that it felt like a job, not an internship.
There was a lot of support from my team members with learning new skills and languages, the on-site library is staffed by the most helpful guy ever with plenty of resources for you.

Working from home
Although nothing is promised, there is every chance they will take me back if possible, or fly me to SF for interviews.
The Culture
There were plenty of intern events especially with around 100 interns here.
It was a little more than previous locatiosn i've lived but for the proximity to London it was pretty good.
Plenty of choice for restaurants, bars and clubs.
There was plenty of chances for team events and meals etc.
