Overview
Supporting the business with a broad range of legal queries. The legal areas of focus are contract law, marketing law, litigation, environmental law and competition law.
Skills
I have had the opportunity to apply learnings from university and have vastly improved in a range of skills including attention to detail, time management and communication. These have greatly improved my confidence.
Responsibilities
While I required my work to be checked by a qualified solicitor as I have not yet gained this qualification myself, I managed my own workload and was involved in a variety of projects. I had the opportunity to manage my own project and present findings back to a panel who then provided me with valuable feedback. I felt I had a lot of responsibility which was very motivating.
Support & Guidance
I had weekly 1:1 meetings with my line manager to discuss my workload and any concerns I had. I felt comfortable to ask my line manager for guidance when necessary and she was always very supportive. I attended weekly catch up sessions with my team where we could raise items for discussion which often provided guidance. I had quarterly and an annual review to measure my progress and provide me with guidance on how I could improve.
Culture
The culture was very supportive and open. I felt everyone was happy to help and wanted to work together to achieve the best result, which was very motivating
