Overview
Assisting with administrative tasks such as setting up job requisitions and psychometric testing Assisting with recruitment projects such as graduate recruitment Scheduling interviews for candidates Report writing and research regarding improving recruitment strategies
Skills
Greater communication and inter-personal skills Greatly improved IT skills, specifically with Microsoft applications such as Excel Greater analytical skills from looking at recruitment data Greater numerical skills from invoicing and cross-charging tasks
Responsibilities
I was given many opportunities to work autonomously. I was encouraged to speak to important stakeholders from the first day to build confidence and knowledge of the organisation. If there was a project that I wanted to get involved in, I was given full flexibility to do so.
Support & Guidance
I had a line manager and a head of department that were happy to help whenever I had a problem or question There was another intern in my team which helped a lot as we went through the learning process together The rest of the team was super helpful in assisting with any queries.
Culture
Thrive is a really good initiative as it promotes happiness in the working environment. There is an onsite gym that is free to access, regular fitness classes and a massage room. These activities are actively encouraged. There is a social committee that organises quarterly events such as drinks with the team. Good network of interns to socialise with. The culture is considerate and encouraging of employees' lives outside of work.
Your Impressions
I have thoroughly enjoyed my internship. I feel as though I am truly part of the team rather than a temporary member. The culture makes you want to go into the office even though you have the option of working from home for most internships. The managers are very understanding and supportive in your role
Yes
Make sure to research the company and take an interest in their culture, aim and current organisation. Make sure you know what your role entails and that you have experience/an interest in the field. Take into account that working in the Watford office may involve relocation or commuting. Also, get in contact with previous interns, we are always happy to help!
