Overview
Participating in agile sprint ceremonies, contributing to team projects, fixing bugs, etc.
Skills
I have developed my existing Github and general programming practice skills and learnt a lot of new ones, from technical skills such as experience with both web coding languages (JavaScript, HTML, CSS) and iOS coding languages (Swift, Objective C) to soft skills such as working agilely and communication/teamwork
Responsibilities
I was given more responsibility than I would have expected prior to starting my placement but it's appropriately scaled up as time goes on so you never feel overwhelmed with everything but still get to see what you're capable of
Support & Guidance
There's lots of training at the start which was very useful and a good mentor system so you always have someone in your team who you can ask questions/can guide you, plus all managers I've had have always been amazing
Culture
There's a really good atmosphere, it feels like a very accepting, supportive environment and everyone's really friendly and nice
Your Impressions
I've really enjoyed it, way more than university since you get to contribute towards things that actually go intro production and get industry experience. I honestly can't think of one thing that I'd have changed about the year, I think choosing to do a placement here was the best decision I've made throughout university.
Yes
Try not to stress out too much over the coding interview since the interviewers want you to succeed and are on your side, the application process is quite long but definitely worth it
