Overview
My role has varied over the past year but the main principles were the same. Networking and speaking with different hotels and clients were the sole of the placement. Making sure that needs and expectations were met.
Skills
I have learnt a significant amount of skills during my time here. My confidence has drastically increased along with all my interpersonal skills. Not only this but basic skills such as organisation and time management from working here have sky rocketed. I have learnt skills that i can take with me through my life, very grateful.
Responsibilities
I was given major responsibility, including handling large enquiries worth millions for different business that Hilton are partnered with. It was up to me to convert and keep my client in contact with the hotel throughout the enquiries journey. I was tasked with creating projects for different segments which ultimately would be used for hotels and clients and their benefit.
Support & Guidance
Plenty, always people asking if i needed support. I was not afraid to ask questions as i was constantly told 'no question is a silly question'. This really helped towards the start of placement year when my knowledge was minimal
Culture
The company culture was brilliant. Everyone had each others backs throughout each process I was involved in. When attending events everyone was always extremely helpful in making sure you are ok. Everyone in the office is always incredibly friendly and their is a nice 'sales' atmosphere.
Your Impressions
To a large extent. I can't thank the people in my team enough for allowing me to experience some of the opportunities that i was welcomed to. Not just in my team, but the people you meet at socials from the office and the company are also fantastic, it really made me forget i was a student for sometime and made me want to get into the world of sales sooner
Yes
Speak to everyone. Go for it. Definitely apply, when i did, I wasn't sure i would get it, but i was very thankful i did. It's a really fantastic opportunity for a year placement. I would say speak to as many people as possible, as you never know who you will meet again down the line.
