Overview
Two day virtual event consisting of introductory sessions, panel discussions about the company and the working culture, technical workshops involving coding and algorithms, webinars on internship applications.
Skills
Improved my coding skills definitely but also gained new knowledge on algorithms and data structures that i am not familiar with at all. Insight into the company and the internship application
Business Insight
This insigt event was only about one role - SDE. Would have liked to hear about other roles as well. In depth insight into what the day-to-day life in amazon as an SDE is like. It was really nice learning not only the working aspect, but also diving into the technical details of what the job entails
Culture
Online event so couldnt feel the atmosphere and culture as much. Also spent most of the insight with one mentor. But company culture webinars were really good and i feel like the company would be a nice place to work in.
Your Impressions
Was a really nice opportunity to develop my coding skills with a professional organisation. Learnt a lot of technical skills and knowledge. Better understanding of the life of an SDE and their day-to-day tasks. Would have also benefitted from more graduates talking about specific tasks or case studies they encountered during their job, and potentially learn about roles outside of SDE.
