Overview
The insight involved several panel discussions by Amazon members detailing company culture, work life, internship application advice. Additionally, there were small group technical sessions of 5-10 people where we completed coding challenges, pair programming activities and bug finding challenges alongside a mentor - covering various aspects of Software Development fundamentals like test-driven development and object-oriented programming.
Skills
I developed my skills in writing clean, maintainable code and comprehensive unit tests, as well as preparing for job interviews.
Business Insight
Being a big company, Amazon offers many different roles covering various products, languages, and frameworks so it is exciting to hear from specialists in vastly different fields. The business despite being of massive scale seems to be united by several core principles.
Culture
Very customer centric and data centric, striving for excellence but overall very welcoming.
