The Role
Was relatively average, was given things to do, but personally decided I.T isnt the right industry for me, which hampered the enjoyment somewhat
Was given a relatively good level of responsibilty with the results of tasks being used by managers, who would give feedback and were gracious.
Any issues that came up were met with advice and guidance on how to find the answer for yourself, and if unable to there were a number of people who were more than happy to help
Had various ebbs and flows, would be very busy for a short period of time and then extremely quiet for periods of time too
Was given various projects that I was solely responsibile for, and had to keep on top of as noone else would be able to.
Have developed a variety of skills, also I was able to attend a variety of different training sessions, on a monthly basis, should I had wished too. Also able to get industry recognised certifications
The Company
Office wide events happened often, and the atmosphere was always relatively upbeat.
General scheme was organised well, with an induction week to introduce students and end of year event to show highlights of year.
Offered a number of training sessions on different softwares and given extensive induction training for the scheme, also offered the opportunity to get industry recognised qualifications, howeve there could have been more personal development training sessions in addition to the development you recieve by completing you day to day job.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Above 25 days holiday
Working from home
Offered an accelerated application to the MACH process, missing out the telephone interview, and getting to apply early.
The Culture
Relatively good social scene, if you want to be involved in it, intern nights out, inter-company socials.
Cheaper than many places, if you choose to live in the student area, many student nights in town, something on most nights.
Variety of clubs, most with a student night on atleast one night of the week.
Schemes like Young Britain Works or the 101 teams offer you the chance to get involved in activities outside of your day-to-day job which will add something extra toyour CV, if you participate in them fully
