Overview
During these two days, we've been able to follow an easy and well-structured panel for attending each session correctly. When it comes to the general dynamics of the event, it's been life-saving having a mentor as well as constant notifications on where to go and how to act/ask for clarification. It's been fun and knowledge-nourishing.
Skills
I've been able to learn about new coding concepts (such as memory leak and tight coupling), as well as developing existing coding skills, related to hashmap management and cache policies. Last but not least, I've been able to develop the classic yet fundamental group-work and communicating skills. So, this even has really represented a huge source of knowledge for me and for everyone, really.
Business Insight
It was essential for fully having a general image of what the business and roles available can be like. As a student, it's relieving to have such an opportunity to receive mentoring and practicing within diffent programming topics which are often used/required for any potential role.
Culture
It was embracing from minute 0. There's no better way to cheer attendants up by encouraging them with well-prepared information and workshops. Moreover, having the experience to hear direclty from different Amazonians about their own journeys, tips and loving words is fundamental for building attendants' confidence and excitement towards future fob offers.
Your Impressions
It's made be forget about the typical freight of feeling intimidated by a big company like Amazon is, so it's really made me feel included in all aspects as, something that makes this even stand out from the crowd is the fact that you perceive a sense of being heard as well as supported by all the mentors, moderators and even workshop mates.
Yes
I'd highly recommend losing the concept of feeling intimidated by the name of the company as well as taking this journey as a magical experience for getting new skills or developing existing ones. I'd also recommend doing some research on how to apply, application process and Amazon's principles.
