The Role
I had a great team, that definitely have made my year. Having a supportive team that make you feel like a valued member of the company was key for me to having a great year and experience.
I was lucky enough to have a very supportive manager, who gave me enough resposnability but also was at hand to sign things off and check in when I need him. He was also great at letting me manage my own team and take part in other areas of the business. The guidance has been invaluable and a key part of success for my internship.
The Company
A little quiet at time, but we had a great opportunity to get to know other team members on team offsites and team meetings.
The Intern and Mach scheme at Microsoft is a well balanced scheme, with a mid year check point and help on hand when and if you need it.
My team director conducted a monthly 1:1 with each of us on personal development which make you feel like they are really investing they time into you to help future your career.

Great contacts made throughout the year and an opportunity to come back as a graduate.
The Culture
We had a great group of interns to have a good social life with in the year, plus great colleagues.
Reading doesn't have the greatest nightlife, but its the people you spend your time with that make it.
