Overview
My job at IBM as an operations analyst was to evaluate and enhance the business operational procedures. I regularly gathered and analysed data pertaining to numerous operational tasks, such as customer service, production processes, and supply chain management. To find trends, patterns, and areas for improvement, I employed statistical tools and approaches. In order to design and implement ways to improve productivity, cut expenses, and maximise performance, I also worked with cross-functional teams. In order to convey findings and suggestions to management and stakeholders, I also wrote reports and presentations.
Skills
I had the opportunity to develop new skills and further enhance existing ones. I gained proficiency in data analysis and statistical modeling using tools such as Excel, Python, or data visualization software. I deepened my knowledge of operations management concepts and methodologies, such as Lean Six Sigma or process optimization. Furthermore, I improved my problem-solving and critical thinking skills by tackling complex operational challenges and proposing effective solutions. Overall, the placement allowed me to expand my skill set and gain practical experience in the field of operations analysis.
Responsibilities
I was entrusted with significant responsibility. I was given ownership of specific projects or initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency or addressing key business challenges. I had the autonomy to collect and analyze data, develop insights, and propose actionable recommendations. While I received guidance and support from my supervisor and team members, I was encouraged to take ownership of my assignments and demonstrate accountability for the outcomes. This level of responsibility allowed me to develop leadership skills and gain confidence in my abilities.
