Overview
Communicating with European subsidiaries to improve customer service processes. Reporting on KPIs weekly, using data from our systems.
Skills
Developed communication and time management skills, due to the fast-paced nature of work at Samsung.
Responsibilities
Yes, I was trusted with carrying out requests from headquarters, as well as being accountable for certain projects.
Support & Guidance
Good guidance at the start of the placement, from a general onboarding. My manager was supportive and made sure I had a variety of opportunities to get involved in.
Culture
Hierarchical, fast-paced and dynamic. Striving for excellence, but there was pressure to be overly deferential to superiors, particularly in HQ.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed my work, and my direct team were supportive and patient with me. I would’ve enjoyed working with people closer to my age group however.
Yes
Accept that the work will be hard during busy periods. There is also a large Korean cultural influence at the company.
