    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.

    • I was placed in the commercial dispute resolution team. During the vacation scheme we had talks from solicitors employed in a multitude of Gateley's teams as well as talks from head partners. This position involved: drafting letters, reviewing legal documents, summarising reports, constructing arguments, taking minutes & attending client meetings.

    • During the application process, make sure that you have no spelling or grammar errors in your application - they will be noticed and they will disqualify you. On the vacation scheme - be as sociable as possible without being weird about it. If someone is obviously busy leave them be but do not feel intimidated by partners - go and speak to them.
