The Role
Thoroughly enjoyed it!
I felt like my work was very valuable towards achieving the team objectives
I was developed well by my supervisor.
Extremely busy. If not working in the lab, catching up on data analysis and future experiment planning.
I was allowed to design my experiment, and was accountable for the progress of my project
I learnt some extrremely useful new research skills, and developed many general skills.
The Company
The atmosphere in the lab and office was productive.
The placement organisation was set up very well by GSK. The agency (SRG) were poorly organised in comparison.
GSK invested a lot of time in training me with new skills to undertake my project.
Flexi Time
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
It seems that GSK is not currently employing many new scientists.
The Culture
The scocial scene was great, with a constant stream of out of work events.
Stevenage was fairly expensive due to its close proximity to London.
Stevenage Old Town offers plenty of pubs. Esleswhere in Stevenage there are a couple of bars and clubs.
I was able to go to conferences and team building residential courses.
