    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • As a new Business Sales placement my role involves creating new leads, presenting demonstrations of the software and cultivating relationships with customers. This process involves a lot of cold calling and communication with a variety of customers worldwide. I am assigned tasks to research and discover potential new leads and get in contact, whether this be by calling or email, to essentially sell our CRM software and help reach our monthly targets.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • My role at the company has required a lot of customer interaction and presentations. This has strongly developed my presentation skills, as well as my ability to communicate effectively with customers in order to try and make a sale or maintain their interests in the software. I believe communication and confidence are major skills that I will need throughout my future career path and skills I believe I have strengthened over my placement year. I have also strongly developed my IT skills, having spent a year working at as software company, which in the modern-day working environment are essential.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • From the very beggining of my placement my managers have trusted me with a lot of responsibility. After completing my training I was required to interact with customers and create potential leads from the very beginning. My managers put a lot of trust in me throughout my placement, which has allowed me to develop as a person and as a salesman.

  • I had daily calls with my managers to ask any questions I may have and to ensure that I am supported. We also had monthly calls to discuss targets and future steps that will help me improve in my role.

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • The culture and the overall feel at ProspectSoft is amazing. Working at the company feels like being apart of a big family, with multiple opportunities to interact with other staff and placements.

  • I have thoroughly enjoyed my time working at the company, as I have developed an in-depth understanding of the business and its fantastic CRM software. Having almost completed my placement, I can honestly say it has been an amazing and enjoyable year.

  • Ensure that you throw yourself at the placement and take any opportunity you can. Make sure to make an effort getting to know your colleagues and do not be afriad to ask your managers for help as they are there to support you.
