Overview
• Assisting with month end routines, including file set-up and the accurate preparation, and posting of journals into accounting systems • Detailed Balance Sheet reconciliation • Assist with cost centre accounting and reporting • Assist with budgeting and forecasting • Liaise with the Risk and Control department • Exposure to accounts receivable activities • Data analysis for the Finance Managers • Assist with ad hoc project work in the finance area

Responsibilities
I was tasked with consolidating a new management system for the individual contracts held by Honda. This project allowed me to liaise with department managers as well as the Operations Director in 1-to-1 meetings. Subsequently, I took the initiative to track project timelines to ensure the new system was accurately set up before the upcoming audit. Fortunately, I was recognized and rewarded for managing this project alongside my month-end responsibilities, reflecting my ability to prioritize and organize tasks effectively.
Support & Guidance
At Honda Financial Service, the whole Finance team is very friendly and always willing to help out whenever you are stuck on a task. Additionally, I was constantly supported by my line manager to improve my career development.
Culture
The office environment at Honda Financial Services is very relaxed and open. As a result, it is quite easy to simply walk up to anyone in the office to answer any queries.
Your Impressions
I thoroughly enjoyed my work placement at Honda. The opportunities presented throughout my placement year have allowed me to develop professionally. Skills such as collaborative working, leadership and presentation have been the main focal point. Honda presents various opportunities for you to step out of your comfort zone and really develop as a person.
