Overview
Research and analysis role. Day to day involved planning experiments, carrying them out and analysing the samples in numerous ways (i.e. electrochemical testing). Responsibilities also included managing my sampled and stock taking. Day to day also involved desk top work such as analysis using models and programmes.
Skills
I feel I've built upon all of my skills from organisation to business acumen. There aren't really any skills I don't think I've worked on during my placement in some way.
Responsibilities
Yes, I was allowed to be very independent and take all the responsibility that came with that
Support & Guidance
Maybe not as much as I would have liked, there were times I felt everyone was too busy to speak to or my issues weren't relevant enough etc.
Culture
Culture and atmosphere is supportive and productive. No question is a stupid question.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed it quite a bit though there were times where the workload lulled and I became somewhat bored
