Overview
I was the savings lead, at Elida Beauty which is a company with in Unilever. As part of my role I looked after the financial aspects of Supply Chain and regularly worked with a large group of stakeholders and senior leaders with in the company.
Skills
Yes, developed my excel skills. And learned to use a few new software like Microsoft Power Bi, SAP, and ICAT. Also really improved on my presentation skills both in terms of making the presentations and presenting them as well.
Responsibilities
The responsibility varied across the placement. For most part of it I would say I had enough responsibility however towards the later part I believe I could have been given a bit more workload and at times felt under utilised.
Support & Guidance
I received a decent amount of support, but would have been helpful to have been able to get regular support at the start of my placement.
Culture
The culture and the working environment was great. A great group of people to work around who were always kind, welcoming, and helpful towards me.
Your Impressions
Overall it was a great experience, I enjoyed and learned a lot through out my time in this role.
Yes
If you are an international student, before accepting the role please know that Unilever will not sponsor you for a work visa and given you do not have the right to work in the UK beyond your post study work visa you are not eligible to apply to their grad scheme in the UK and hence the prospect of securing a grad role for a non-European international student in Unilever UK is absolutely zero.
