Overview
Assisting my team create valuation reports for clients, mostly for Loan Security Valuations. I was mainly tasked with compiling comparable evidence.
Skills
Skills I feel I have developed upon during my internship are; resourcefulness, initiative and communication. By not instantly opting for help and trying to find the answer myself I believe I have learnt a lot.
Responsibilities
Comparable evidence collection is an important element underpinning a valuation. I was also brought to site visits and was able to interact with clients of Savills.
Support & Guidance
From the Early Careers team, I had lots of support throughout the process, including a mid placement review, which I found really useful. In the department I was working in, there were instances where I had to figure out how to do the task I was given, where I could have potentially been supported more.
Culture
As I was based in an office which only had one department, valuations, it was slightly harder to gauge the culture of Savills as a whole. I was able to grow my network during the internship and better understand Savills' culture. I found the atmosphere in the office very pleasant.
Your Impressions
I greatly enjoyed this placement, which gave me a real sense of the life of a graduate working at Savills. It has given me greater drive to work towards a potential graduate role at Savills.
