The Role
It was a very enjoyable experience.
I felt valued but there is a divide between full time staff and students.
My supervisor was very supportive and helpful.
this vaired over the course of the year dependent on projects etc. but I always had something to do.
Responsible for own experiments but part of a team and you have to work within the framework set.
Skills and techniques learnt/developed over my placement will be very useful both in university and my later career.
The Company
Quiet, but sometimes chatty - a good working environment.
Very wll organised, the first few weeks were slightly disorganised getting everyone settled in.
We were given lot's of responsibility and given opportunities to learn and develop.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events

A very tough industry to get into but there are graduate oppurtunities outside of R&D
The Culture
Very good socially as there are lots of other industrial placement students
very affordable on the salary
Not so great in Stevenage, but it's close to London!
