Overview
Monitoring and Updating of reports that get shared and utilised through different areas of the business. Various meetings to help future plan things like how much stock we want to build. This can be for new or old films. As a department we would try to be as efficient as possible and try to keep storage cost to a low. Mainly through the use of excel and formulas within that.
Skills
I developed my Time and Project management. As well as various others that came with projects I had to complete. It also made me a more confident and professional individual. We were provided with free access to LinkedIn Learning which let me pursue skills I wanted to develop. Including building my own brand and becoming a modern professional. As well as personal interests such as 3D animating courses.
Responsibilities
I was given plenty. There as some areas of work that only I am able to do. And if I am ill it would have to wait until I return. I am able to make the final decision on a lot of things and stamp my own way of doing things onto my job. Overall I would say you are given the right amount of responsibility that suits you and the team was very flexible.
Support & Guidance
I received a great deal of support. Both from my departmental team as well as the early careers team. There was never a time during my placement where I felt alone or isolated. I have gone to various teams with different issues and the support has been quick as well as useful. As for guidance we had frequent connect sessions where all interns are able to get involved with tasks and create goals.
Culture
It was amazing. Every team is welcoming and are eager to let you get involved with their department. I was able to involve myself in various projects. The atmosphere is one of involvement. I never felt afraid or hesitant to speak to anyone. And as such I was always comfortable sharing my ideas.
Your Impressions
I would say it was the perfect experience for me. The job gave me a great base to understand workplace skills and etiquette. There were many perks which made the role very appealing. I was able to attend various high end events such as walking the red carpet. These kind of experiences are ones that I can take with me and talk about for the rest of my life.
Yes
Go into it with an open mind as you may fit into many teams and not just one. I would say be yourself when getting interviewed and let some personality show as it is easy to forget that the people interviewing and watching your application videos are just people too. Many can be too strict on themselves, It is just as important for WBD to be a good fit for you too.
