Overview
analysing client's breakdowns of financial data, creating samples from listings and testing them using reliable evidence. Then reporting any misstatements for the client to correct on their financial statement.
Skills
By the end of the placement I will have qualified with my first year of the ACA. I have an understanding of audit and have improved my excel and analytical skills.
Responsibilities
Yes, we had deadlines to meet and had to discuss our queries with clients without the need for direct supervision from seniors.
Support & Guidance
We have monthly people manager meetings to discuss any problems we were having and there is a feedback system throughout the year so we can understand how best to improve.
Culture
There are many events each week. Also the office has no separate offices for partners or other seniors, everyone works in the same open space and so it feels less intimidating talking to seniors.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed it a lot, there are a lot of socials and everyone I met was very nice. The work involved a lot of problem solving which kept each day interesting.
Yes
There is extensive training at the beginning of the job, so its expected to not know much initially. Everyone is happy to answer questions.
