Overview
A Customer Success Assistant is responsible for ensuring that customers have a great experience, and providing support when necessary. This helps ensure that customers get the maximum value out of the product, reducing churn rates. On a day-to-day basis, I touch base with my team in the morning, get in contact with customers via email, telephone or Teams calls to ensure they are happy, and follow up on customer feedback to get their opinions on how we could improve our product.
Skills
I have learnt so many new skills since undergoing my placement year at ProspectSoft. The initial change from the academic environment to the professional one was tough but so amazing. The responsibility given to you as a placement, from day one, is immense so existent levels of confidence, problem solving skills and interpreting skills are developed from the off. I have learnt the importance of effective communication with colleagues and customers, as well as the significance of being completely customer focused.
Responsibilities
As mentioned, I was given so much responsibility from the start and I was treated like a full-time employee rather than someone who would be on the coffee run for a year! I felt part of the team as I got in contact with real customers and made a real impact on the business. From this, I also learnt the importance of professionalism in and outside of the workplace, as well as online, as the reputation of the company rests on everybody's shoulders.
Support & Guidance
I received lots of support throughout the entirety of my placement. From learning how to use our system, to answering complex customer queries, my manager was there to help out when I needed. All of the managers, and full-time-employees alike, understand that this is many of our first experiences in this sort of environment and so are happy to help you grow as individuals and professionals in the industry. It helps that they are all down-to-earth and very easy to get on with!
Culture
The culture at ProspectSoft is amazing. It feels as though the whole team is a family and everyone is always so happy to help answer any questions you might have. There are plenty of company socials throughout the year too, which are always a good laugh and a great way to get to know your colleagues more.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed my placement to a large extent because there was always something for me to do and I never got bored. There is opportunity for you to develop as an individual, work on your hard/soft skills, and make some great friends along the way and that's exactly what I did. I would recommend this placement to anyone looking to do a placement year and can say with my hand on my heart that it has been a very enjoyable year.
