Overview
Providing assets and samples for retailers on an ad-hoc basis. Solving internal pricing issues. Leading the launch of new products quarterly.
Skills
Excel has vastly improved. Developed the ability to use basic VBA code in order to streamline processes within my job. Workplace confidence has increased.
Responsibilities
Yes, to be trusted with leading the launch of new products liasing with brand, finance, supply and commercial meeting strict retailer deadlines was a big responsibility.
Support & Guidance
My manager was extremely supportive. They put in regular check-in calls and messages to ensure i was coping. Furthermore the wider team were also very supportive and always willing to give me time to explain things.
Culture
The company culture was very social. I felt like lots of the characters were very extroverted. The general atmosphere was always one of fun and 'work hard, play hard'.
Your Impressions
It was extremely enjoyable from both a development standpoint to really experience a real workplace for the first time but also from a personal standpoint. Due to the positive culture, the placement was lots of fun and i got many opportunities for activities that I hadn't experienced before.

Make sure you research the correct role for you and don't just fall into one that doesn't suit you. Interview with confidence and positivity and do your company research and prep before hand thoroughly.
