BMW Group UK logistics intern. Roles and responsibilities include daily reporting and responding to problems occurring through out the day regarding deliveries. Dealing with claims for parts and deciding who the fault lies with. The role also requires lots of raw data evaluation and report building using software to allow others to make more informed decisions. Additionally roles include leading performance meetings, as well as taking minutes in others.
Skills
I have been able to develop a very extensive understanding of Microsoft Excel through lots of use. Additionally I have learnt new programs such and Cognos and Qlik. Other skills I have developed are effective communication, teamworking, leadership and problem solving. The role has also allowed me to strengthen my presentation skills.
Responsibilities
Initially not much responsibility was given, as I developed in the role I had to take opportunities as they arose to take on leadership of different projects and business activities. I would have liked more responsibility.
Support & Guidance
I received lots, the first month is spent shadowing the existing intern, and following their departure the manager takes time to answer any questions. Furthermore my manager also made sure to check in with me regularly.

The culture and atmosphere is amazing, very welcoming and an enjoyable environment.
