Retail Operations Intern Review

My role involves project management and retail operations responsibilities. I assist in managing digital projects, supporting communication channels for retail employees, and enhancing employee engagement by creating editorial content. My role implies creating and delivering training to Area Managers, handling day-to-day queries, collaborating with various teams within the company, including IT, HR, and external agencies, and analysing data. Additionally, I conduct store visits, attend conferences, and gather feedback from beauty advisers (BAs) to improve their digital platforms. Overall, this role combines project management, communication, training, data analysis, and stakeholder collaboration.

I have acquired and developed existing skills throughout the year for personal and professional growth. I have developed problem-solving skills through handling queries and analysing data daily. My stakeholder management skills have improved as I collaborated with various teams. I gained self-confidence and self-assurance by designing training materials and presenting them to large audiences. My relationship-building skills were strengthened through store visits and cross-team collaboration. Lastly, I honed my project management abilities by planning, organising, and coordinating tasks for successful outcomes.

Yes, in this position you are entrusted with all the different projects that you are managing and for many of these you are fully responsible for leading them yourself. As time passes by throughout the year, I got the chance to participate in more projects and I could see my team giving me more responsibilities to handle.

I am grateful to my team as all year long I have received more guidance and support than I expected. I can say that they provided me with a safe work environment where I was not afraid to ask questions, make mistakes or ask for help if I needed it.
