Overview
On a day to day I would complete many KPIs to be given to the wide scope of the company. This data is found from many different areas and software's. Also, during the day I will have many different interactions with all teams with questions they may have om the work I do or needing help with work they do to make it more autonomised to improve their day to day.
Skills
I have increased my Excel sills drastically including my knowledge on formulas and automation. I have learnt new skills on SAP and Power BI. Which has become a very important piece of software for me. Also, the skills that come from understating the working atmosphere and how to manage individuals.
Responsibilities
Many different responsibilities were given to me and during the placement these grew. This allowed me to really understand what it meant to have things down to me and allowed me to really upskill myself very quickly.
Support & Guidance
I had so much guidance and support when i needed it. They didn't pester me with support which is they way I liked it. It was the idea of learn by yourself and struggle imbed the knowledge. But if it really came to it i always had many people from many different teams that would help and be happy to explain anything i asked.
Culture
The atmosphere was very good at the DC and I loved getting to know everyone in the team. By the time i was leaving it felt like a real family. The wider company I didn't receive the same feeling. However, that may have been due to not working with them day to day. As well as, I was the only intern at the DC so i had to go through that on my own.
Your Impressions
I absolutely loved my placement and I am so happy that i had the opportunity to be apart of it. It has developed my so much that I am truly ready for the start of my career. Which has changed since the start of my placement due to the new skills an knowledge I have learnt.
Yes
I would advice to be prepared but understand that they are as excited to have a new member of the team as you are to be apart of that team. Look into L'Oreal and what they do and how they work. A lot of people think of L'Oreal as just beauty but they are a lot more than that with many different pillars and divisions that produce many different products. And be yourself.
