Overview
The role was rotational (4 months in marketing, 4 months in Brand and 4 months in Sales). Within these roles I had the opportunity to explore different aspects on the industry e.g., with marketing I worked in social media and local marketing. My day-to-day roles changed frequently because of this.
Skills
Copywriting, google analytics, event marketing, social media strategy, creating briefs, content creation, brand partnerships, competitor research, handling brand inbox, handling enquiries, excel, analysing year on year data, creating booking forms.
Responsibilities
I was given a lot of responsibilities and made to feel apart of the team, I had consistent 1 to 1 meetings with my line manager to ensure i understood all tasks and to ensure the workload wasn't too difficult to manage.
Support & Guidance
I had consistent support and guidance, my co-workers were always happy to help and when I was given a new task it was thoroughly explained so I felt confident in all my work.
Culture
I Had a great experience working for Unite Students, the company culture and general atmosphere was very inviting and friendly. The commercial team had socials throughout the year which helped in getting to know everyone, this made me feel more comfortable in my work as I felt comfortable approaching other teams when their support was needed for a specific task.
Your Impressions
The commercial Internship helped me gain a deeper understanding of what areas i could potentially go into after graduation, I loved the rotational aspect of the role as it has allowed me to choose a career path based off this. All the teams I've been apart of were welcoming and I was able to explore different roles through shadowing and taking part in tasks outside typical day-to-day work.
