Overview
Responsible for the employee database management system (OneSource); lead updater responsibilities included employee data creation, personal and assignment data changes. • Executed and analysed monthly absence and attendance reports, quarterly recognition awards and biannual service recognition process. • Coordination of placement student hiring for 2023 intake. Worked with several managers across different functions to post positions across our business in the UK – start to finish placement hiring lifecycle. • Conducted exit interviews, provided support in placement student interviews, primary notetaker in ethics investigations and grievance meetings
Skills
The most important skill in HR is communication and this role helped me practice and improve mine. I learnt a lot of administrative responsibilities and developed my team working skills.
Responsibilities
I was given just enough work as a placement student. My manager included me on pretty much every aspect of HR. He gave me the opportunity to be a part of ethics investigation meetings and work on projects on my own such as service recognition and exit interviews.
Support & Guidance
I got a lot of support and guidance from my manager and other stakeholders within the company. Everyone was always ready to help.
Culture
The company is super diverse and inclusive. I always felt very comfortable and welcomed at work.
Your Impressions
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement year and I would recommend every student to try and do one. This year definitely exceeded my expectations and I am so grateful to have gotten the opportunity to work at at a company like Cummins where everyone was so supportive at every step in my career.
